Seven Stairs
This is a set of seven boxes that are studies of stairways, many of them inspired by examples in the book "Staircases - The Architecture of Ascent". In each box the entire staircase lifts out, revealing a sometimes not very practical compartment. The exterior wood is mahogany and inside is curly maple. The boxes are roughly 3 1/2" high - 4 to 6" wide - 5 -6" deep.
